
Elements Volume 1
The ‘elements’ series is a 70 page guide to 2D Digital painting and can be followed in most software packages supporting paintbrushes and layers. With in this downloadable PDF E-Book we have choosen some of the most used aspects of digital painting and asked 2 or 3 professional artists to cover a specific theme or ‘element’, resulting in 2 or 3 different styles and techniques which can be viewed side by side.
In the first volume of this E-Book series, we cover such topics as painting eyes, fabric, fire & smoke, flesh wounds and fur & hair, with the help of such talented and experienced artist as Benita Winckler, Natascha Roeoesli, Richard Tilbury, Stephanie Loftis, Adonihs and Shane Madden
Chapter 1 -
Painting Eyes
Richard Tilbury and Stephanie Loftis start of this first volume of the Elements series. In the first chapter, Rich explains how to create a human eye whilst Stephanie tackles painting an animals eye.
Chapter 2 -
Painting Fabric
Natascha Roeoesli and Richard Tilbury continue on with the Elements series. In the second chapter we see both of them taking different approaches to painting FabricNatascha explains how she painted a textured fabric and Rich shows us how he painted weathered leather armour.
Chapter 3 -
Painting Fire & Smoke
Richard Tilbury and Adonihs continue on with the Elements series. In the third chapter we see both of them taking different approaches to painting Fire & Smoke. Rich concentrates more on the smoke aspect keeping the fire quite small and Adonihs shows us how he paints flames, glows, embers and rendering smoke.
Chapter 4 -
Painting Flesh Wounds
Benita Winckler and Richard Tilbury continue on with the Elements series. In the forth chapter we see both of them taking different approaches to painting Flesh Wounds. Benita concentrates more on a Vampire bite and it effect on the skin and Rich shows us how he added a deep laceration and blood to his character
Chapter 5 -
Painting Fur & Hair
Richard Tilbury and Shane Madden continue on with the Elements series. In the final chapter of the first volume of this E-Book we see both of them taking different approaches to painting Fur & Hair. Rich concentrates more painting animal fur which he uses photo reference inorder to get a realistic representation and Shane tackles painting human hair
