Painting Armour
The Painting Armour eBook is a 39-page guide on how to tackle the subject of painting convincing armour. The eBook specialises in creating Medieval, Roman and Samurai armour. We asked industry professional Mike Lim (aka Daarken) to create easy-to-follow guides/tutorials on how to paint these types of armour, and as well giving expert tuition, Mike Lim has also supplied the brushes that he used, which can be downloaded at the beginning and end of the tutorials This tutorial eBook is aimed at intermediate to advanced level of artists.

Chapter 1 –
European Knight – Medieval Armour
In the first chapter, Mike Lim takes us through the general blocking out of the figure, gradually building up the armour. He starts off with the pauldrons, progressing onto painting the chest and arm plates, and through to painting effective looking chain mail – also showing us how to add texture to our paintings.

Chapter 2 -
Greek - Roman Ancient World Armour, Spartans, Trojans
In the second chapter, Mike starts off by blocking in the main silhouette, and then filling out the face and the general shape of the armour. With all the basic shapes and colours down, he then goes into adding the final detail, such as the different armour plates, rivets, rings and so on.

Chapter 3 -
Oriental Japanese / Samurai
In the final chapter, Mike Lim shows us how to build up the general figure using the same techniques that used in the previous two chapters. Starting off by painting the helmet, he works his way down the figure this time.
